FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 21, 2025

ATLANTA |Today, Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones provided remarks at the third meeting of the Georgia Senate Special Committee on Eliminating Georgia’s Income Tax and met with local business leaders and constituents in Gainesville, Georgia.

“To every Georgian working paycheck to paycheck, we hear you,” said Lt. Governor Burt Jones. “When we take money out of your paychecks through the state income tax, it makes it harder for you to get ahead. Georgia is strong because of the people who work hard every day, not because of the government taking more of your paycheck. Eliminating the state income tax is about giving families breathing room and letting Georgians keep more of the money they work hard to earn. Eliminating the income tax would mean that you keep more of what you earn. You earned it. You should keep it.”
