A native of South Georgia, TJ Hudson serves as the Lt. Governor’s South Georgia Field Director and will oversee the Statewide Field Representative Program. TJ is a dedicated public servant who is the County Manager and until 2020 was the County Probate Court Judge, Chief Magistrate Court Judge and Elections Superintendent. He is a graduate of Middle Georgia State University with a degree in Criminal Justice. Previously, TJ worked as a deputy in the Treutlen County Sheriff’s Department. When he was elected in 2004, he was the first African-American man to be elected as Probate Judge in Georgia and at the time, was the youngest in the state. TJ is affiliated with multiple associations, in which he has held positions of leadership. TJ Hudson was the 2019 Magistrate Court Judge of the Year, an honor given to him by the Council of Magistrate Court Judges of Georgia. He is a two-time recipient of the Special Recognition award and was voted as the Outstanding Probate Judge of the Year in 2020, both honors were given by the Council of Probate Court Judges of Georgia. In 2020, TJ Hudson was named the “Man of the Year” by the Treutlen County Concerned Citizens and UCWC.
