Lt. Governor Burt Jones Announces First Meeting of Georgia Senate Special Committee

ATLANTA |Today, Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones announced the first meeting of the Georgia Senate Special Committee on Eliminating Georgia’s Income Tax. Lieutenant Governor Jones will be attending the meeting and providing remarks.  

“Last month, I created the Georgia Senate Special Committee on Eliminating Georgia’s Income Tax, and I am happy to announce that the first meeting will be held on August 19th,” said Lt. Governor Burt Jones. “Eliminating Georgia’s income tax is a promise I made to all Georgians, and it is a promise I intend to keep. The work of this committee is essential to achieving this goal in a responsible, efficient and comprehensive manner. If we wish to remain competitive for our nation’s workforce, we must support our citizens by putting more money back in their pockets. I look forward to this committee’s first hearing and reviewing its findings.”
