ATLANTA | Lt. Governor Burt Jones encourages public and private schools to apply for up to $1,000 to support STEM-related activities for students.
“Growing Georgia’s workforce for businesses across Georgia remains a top priority,” said Lt. Governor Burt Jones. “This Scholarship Program supports STEM-related activities in schools that are essential to building long-term passion for STEM-related fields and to prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow. Opportunities like these are critical to Georgia’s workforce and success, and I encourage schools across the state to apply.”
The National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) opened the application period for the fourth annual Lt. Governors’ STEM Scholarship Program, sponsored by ACT, to award up to $1,000 to 12 schools nationally to support STEM-related activities for youth. Applications will be accepted until March 7, 2025, with award recipients announced and funded in Spring 2025.
NLGA will award twelve scholarships to twelve schools in twelve different states and territories, worth $10,000 total. The Scholarship Program is administered by NLGA, the nonpartisan, nonprofit association for the nation’s seconds-in-command, and sponsored by ACT, whose mission is to help people be successful in their education and careers.
All public, private, and tribal schools in the 50 states and five U.S. territories are invited to apply. Funding will be awarded to schools to support STEM-related activities, programming, curriculum, equipment, and other expenses.
