ATLANTA | Today, Lt. Governor Burt Jones’s property tax reform priority, House Bill 581, passed the Senate. The legislation, also known as the “Save Our Homes Act”, aims to address longstanding issues with local property taxes.

“I was proud to prioritize property tax reform legislation this session,” said Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones. “As part of our ongoing efforts to keep costs low for Georgia families, HB 581 limits increases in property taxes year to year, reforms the appeals process, and allows for more transparency in our taxation procedures. With the passage of HB 581, we can continue to lower costs while eliminating confusion in Georgia’s local property taxation process.”
