ATLANTA | Today, Lt. Governor Burt Jones issued a statement on Senate passage of House Bill 935, which would establish the Back the Blue Fund.

“In Georgia, we want our law enforcement officers to know that we support them, and we will always back the blue,” said Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones. “With the establishment of the Back the Blue Fund, we can provide well deserved bonuses to our hardworking deputy sheriffs and jailers, who sacrifice time away from their families to keep our communities safe. I will never waver in my support for our brave men and women in law enforcement.”

House Bill 935 – Will distribute voluntary contributions made through vehicle registration applications to sheriffs for the purpose of providing bonuses to deputy sheriffs and jailers. Lt. Governor Burt Jones introduced the initial measure as the Senator from the 25th in 2022.
