ATLANTA | Today, Lt. Governor Burt Jones’s priority, the “Protecting Georgia’s Children on Social Media Act”, passed the Senate. Senate Bill 351, aimed at combatting cyberbullying and addressing youth mental health as it pertains to social media use, will now be considered by the House.

“I will never apologize in the fight to protect Georgia’s youth. Social media can be a very useful tool, however there are instances in which we must reign in Big Tech in order to protect the health and safety of our children,” said Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones. “This legislation is a tremendous step forward in our effort to combat cyberbullying and protect Georgia’s children. I look forward to the House taking swift action on this legislation so that this bill can become law and we can begin to address the very serious issues surrounding social media and its impact on our children’s mental health.”
