FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 7, 2024

ATLANTA | Today, Lt. Governor Burt Jones issued a statement on the introduction of Senate Bill 465, legislation aimed at addressing the sale and distribution of substances such as fentanyl.

“The scourge of fentanyl is killing Georgians by the thousands while Joe Biden and Democrats in Washington refuse to do their job, secure the border, and stop the flow of this deadly drug into our country,” said Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones. “Those who sell and distribute this poison should be treated like the murderers they are. I appreciate Senator Russ Goodman’s leadership on this issue and look forward to helping lead the fight to combat this crisis and prevent the senseless deaths of Georgians.”
