FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, June 20, 2023

ATLANTA | Today, Lt. Governor Burt Jones issued a statement on vulnerabilities within Georgia’s voting system. The concerns are detailed in the Halderman Report and have been previously verified by federal cybersecurity officials.

“I’ve requested a meeting with the Secretary of State’s Office to discuss the recent report outlining potential vulnerabilities within our voting system and their decision to wait until after the 2024 elections to address it. With ongoing cyberattacks on the rise every day, we must be vigilant about protecting and securing our voting system from any future interference in our elections. Our office will continue working to ensure our elections are free, fair and secure so that every Georgian can have the utmost confidence in our democracy.”
