Although the Lieutenant Governor is not able to change department procedure or guidelines to meet the needs of individual constituents, he can offer assistance in working with state agencies on unresolved issues. As a state government official, Lt. Governor Jones does not have any jurisdiction over federal agencies. Issues regarding a federal agency or federal legislation can be addressed by a representative of the federal government. Georgia's U.S. Senators and Representatives handle federal government issues on behalf of Georgia’s citizens every day and highly value their constituents' concerns.
