Apply to be a Page

Thank you for your interest in the 2018 Senate Page Program.

The Page program provides a unique opportunity for students to get a first hand experience of their state government.

While paging, you will work for the full legislative day and will receive a certificate of service and $10.00 honorarium pay. Your service as a page is counted as a day "present" in school and your certificate will serve as an excuse from school.

Pages are responsible for their own transportation to and from the Capitol. All pages must report to the Page Desk by 9:00 a.m. Most legislative days run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m

The Page Desk is located on the third floor of the State Capitol, directly across from the Senate chamber. After confirming the Senate convening time for your service date, you will need to report to the Page Director at the Senate Pagge Desk for Page Orientation one hour before Senate convening time. Here students will have explained the layout of the Capitol, where legislative offices are located, and provide a general overview of what they will be doing. It is recommended that every page be neatly dressed in business attire with comfortable shoes.

A certificate of service will be presented to each page at the end of the day. This certificate will serve as an excuse from school.

If the page program is something you would like to do, then please fill out this application. The Lieutenant Governor has a limited number of pages per session. You may be put on a waiting list for next year or you may get to pick a day this session. You will notice within the application that three choices of dates are listed. This is to provide the Lieutenant Governor's office staff with the ability to search other dates to find a vacancy if it is available. If there are none, you may reach out to your local state senator or representative.

Minimum age requirement is twelve (12) years of age.
