Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan Issues Statement on Speaker David Ralston’s Announcement to Not Seek Nomination as Speaker
ATLANTA (November 4,2022) | Today, Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan issued the following statement on Speaker David Ralston’s announcement to not seek another term as Speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives:
“Since being sworn into the Georgia House in 2013, I have enjoyed a strong working relationship with Speaker Ralston as both a state representative and Lieutenant Governor. I am especially grateful for his leadership of the House over the last 4 years as we have all navigated some of our state's most difficult days as a result of the pandemic.
Over the last ten years, Speaker Ralston and I have worked together on some of the most critical issues facing Georgians, including rural hospitals, mental health reform, the hate crimes legislation, and bringing much needed improvements to Georgia’s foster care system. I wish all the best for Speaker Ralston, his wife Sheree, and his entire family.”
