Lt. Governor Casey Cagle Applauds Senate for Passage of Job Creation Legislation

March 25, 2009

Lt. Governor Casey Cagle released the following statement following the Senate’s passage of H.B. 481 and H.B. 482:

“Real and lasting economic recovery means every Georgian who needs a job has access to a job.  The legislation we passed today will provide necessary paths to job creation. Our actions speak directly to the issue that citizens care about most in today’s economy: generating viable economic growth that will mean relief to families throughout our state.

“These bills will not only incentivize employers to hire Georgians who are currently out of work, but tax credits, tax cuts and reform to the inventory and state income tax for businesses will mean more jobs.

“Today’s passage is a reflection of the hard work and cooperation of the Senate and House.  I commend Senate Leadership, and Senator Chip Rogers, for their strong support of these bills and look forward to Governor Perdue’s action soon,” said Lt Governor Casey Cagle.
