Lt. Governor Casey Cagle: Moving Transportation Forward is a Priority this Session

March 6, 2008

(Atlanta, GA) – Today, Lt. Governor Casey Cagle released the following statement regarding the effort underway to finalize a transportation funding solution this session:

“There is no question that improving the transportation infrastructure of our state is a high priority of mine and I was pleased the Senate acted quickly on this issue with the passage of a transportation funding resolution,” said Lt. Governor Casey Cagle. “Funding our future transportation needs can no longer wait and the good news is that we are closer than we have ever been to reaching a consensus solution that puts our voters in the driver seat.   It will be our citizens who determine how their transportation dollars can be best spent to improve their region.   I commend Senator Jeff Mullis and Representative Vance Smith for their diligent work on this issue and we will continue to work closely with the House of Representatives in order to reach a solution this session.”
