Lt. Governor Casey Cagle Statement Regarding Georgia's Legal Action

October 19, 2007

Lt. Governor Casey Cagle released the following statement in regards to the State of Georgia filing of a court order in the Middle District of Florida Federal Court.

I commend Governor Perdue for taking the necessary steps to protect our drinking water and we urge the court to consider the emergency nature of this situation and act swiftly. Georgians can be confident that we will not stand by while our lakes are drained of water. Protecting the citizens of our state far outweighs protecting mussels and sturgeon, Lt. Governor Casey Cagle said.

Cagle will participate in a press conference tomorrow October 20, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Mary Alice Park to discuss Georgias drought along with Governor Perdue and members of Georgias Congressional delegation.
