Cagle Names Head As Honorary Senator

July 6, 2007

(Atlanta, GA) – Lt. Governor Casey Cagle named Marietta’s Donovan Head as “Honorary Senator” for Friday, July 6th.

“It was a pleasure to welcome the Donovan to the Capitol today.   He is a great example of a young man who has invested time in his community and others,” Cagle said.

Head is a graduate of SprayberryHigh School and is currently attending ValdostaStateUniversity where he is a member of the University’s Emerging Leaders Program.  He has participated in several service projects including a Tsunami Relief Care Package program and President Bush’s Compassion Across America program. Head has been active in the political process and has served as a volunteer for several Georgia campaigns and is the Former Vice-Chairman for the Georgia Association of Teen-Republicans. Additionally, he was recently named Eagle Scout.

The Honorary Senator program is an effort by Cagle to recognize and reward outstanding Georgia citizens who are involved in their community and the political process. Honorary Senators are invited to the State Capitol to witness Senators debate and vote on the Senate floor first-hand (when the legislature is in session) and meet with Lt. Governor Cagle.
