Lieutenant Governor Cagle Applauds Governor Perdue's State of the State Address

January 12, 2007

(Atlanta, GA) – Today, Governor Perdue addressed a joint session of the state House and Senate in his annual State of the State address. Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle released the following statement in reaction to the speech:

"I applaud Governor Perdue for his leadership and continued vision to run a well-managed and fiscally disciplined state.    As an advocate for improved education, I strongly support the priority Governor Perdue has placed on education and truly appreciate the help his Graduation Coaches initiative will bring to our students.

"I admire Governor Perdue’s desire to bring welcomed relief to our state’s retired seniors – and to Georgians as a whole – through his tax cut incentives. Governor Perdue’s foresight in propelling Georgia to become one of our country's leading economic engines by bringing more businesses and more opportunities to our state is something I will partner with him to accomplish.

"Governor Perdue has led this state with excellence and discipline over the last four years and I look forward to all we will accomplish together during this term," Cagle said.
