Lt. Governor Casey Cagle Announces Bart Gobeil as Chief of Staff

Lt. Governor Casey Cagle announced today that Bart Gobeil of
“Brad’s leadership, work ethic and counsel were critically important during our transition period, and over the past two legislative sessions. He will be missed, but I know he will value the opportunity to return to the private sector and spend more time with his family,” said Cagle.

Alexander has worked for Cagle for over three years, first as a campaign consultant, then as director of the Cagle transition team, and as Chief of Staff for the past two legislative sessions. He will be a founding partner of the soon to be launched Georgia360 public affairs firm, and will continue as an advisor to Lt. Governor Cagle’s campaign and political action committees.
Gobeil returns to the public sector following a seven year tenure as a top executive with AGL Resources. His previous public service includes work for the Georgia Public Service Commission and the late Senator Paul Coverdell’s

Bart Gobeil most recently served as the Director of Government Relations at AGL Resources, an
Brad Alexander served for the past two legislative sessions as Chief of Staff to Lt. Governor Casey Cagle with a focus on operating all aspects of the Georgia State Senate and the Lt. Governor’s office. In that position, Brad played a role in virtually every piece of legislation passed by the General Assembly (as well as shaping an $18 billion state budget). His service included a heavy policy focus on state taxation, appropriations, telecommunications, energy, financial services and health care. Prior to state government service, he spent over a decade as a congressional press secretary, political consultant and corporate communicator. Among other things, he played a key strategic role for U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson’s successful campaign and served as spokesman for a high profile U.S. House member. Alexander has earned several accolades for his work, including recently being named one of the “Most Influential Georgians” by James magazine and one of the “Top 40 Georgians Under 40” by Georgia Trend magazine. Brad serves on the Board of Visitors of Emory University, works as an adjunct scholar for the Georgia Public Policy Foundation, and volunteers at the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House.
