(Atlanta, GA) - Lt. Governor Casey Cagle announced today his appointment of David Crooke to the Child Advocate Advisory Committee.

"David's professional background coupled with his strong desire to see the best care afforded to Georgia's children makes him the perfect fit for this position," Cagle said.

"It is an honor to be appointed to serve on this committee. I look forward with great anticipation to working together with the other board members and Mr. Rawlings in supporting Georgia communities in meeting the needs of abused and neglected children," Crooke said.

Crooke currently serves as the CEO of CarePartners of Georgia, a behavioral health organization.   Previously, he was the Deputy Director of Ogeechee Behavioral Health Services and worked as a Behavioral Specialist at the Community Mental Health Center of Middle Georgia. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and certified Clinical Supervisor and Sexual Offender Treatment Specialist.   In 2003, he was named Humanitarian of the Year by the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network.   Crooke received his undergraduate degree in Psychology and his Masters in Clinical Psychology from Augusta State University.   He lives in Dublin, Georgia with his wife Maria and daughter Leah.

The Child Advocate Advisory Committee meets at least three times a year with the Child Advocate and staff to review and assess the patterns of treatment and services for children, policy implications and systemic improvements.   The committee provides an annual evaluation on the effectiveness of the office of the Child Advocate.
