Lt. Governor Cagle Appoints Warner Robins' Mary Therese Tebbe to Regional Planning Council

The office of Lt. Governor Casey Cagle announced Mary Therese Tebbe has been appointed to serve on the Council of Regional Commissions serving the Warner Robins area.  The Council will serve as the primary strategic entity for land use, environmental, transportation, and historic preservation planning in their designated region.

"Mary Therese's extensive world travels, years of civic leadership, and dedication will bring an invaluable perspective to the Coucnil," said Lt. Governor Casey Cagle. “It is truly an honor for her to represent my office as she is a great leader committed to improving the lives of others in middle Georgia.”

Tebbe is Executive Director of the Middle Georgia 21^st Century Partnership, a non-profit group which serves as the community liaison between Robins Air Force Base and the Macon-Warner Robins area.  She is a former co-anchor for WMAZ-TV in Macon, winning the Georgia Association of Broadcasters’ “Personality of the Year” Award in 2005.  She has been actively involved in children’s health, hosting the annual Children’s Miracle Network Broadcast and serving on the Board of the Children’s Hospital in Macon. 

Tebbe has volunteered her time to honor American military forces deployed overseas as host and emcee of “Operation Seasons Greetings.”  Since 2000, she has traveled over 100,000 miles all over the world with the Band of the Air Force Reserve out of Robins entertaining troops and their families.

A Chicago, Ill. native, Tebbe has called middle Georgia home for close to thirty years. Her family moved to the Warner Robins area in 1981 when her late father was transferred to Robins.  She and her husband Jim live in Warner Robins along with her mother and five brothers.

Tebbe will begin her two-year Council term July 1.  The Council was enacted by the General Assembly passing House Bill 1216 in 2008.  The Council will be the official regional planning and development organization for the local governments and citizens in its designated region.  The Council will create policy direction for the area’s short and long-term comprehensive planning and serve as liaison between its regional communities and the state government.
