Lt. Governor Casey Cagle Statement Regarding August Revenue Numbers

Lt. Governor Casey Cagle released the following statement regarding the August revenue numbers:

“As state leaders, we do not take these declining revenue numbers lightly, as they give credence to the true seriousness of our financial situation. While we have built a strong rainy day fund and managed well, it is clear we have to have a healthy debate on how to best prioritize government services and where to cut spending.  In this economic environment, we must have the courage to make tough decisions and I will continue to work with Governor Perdue and Speaker Richardson as we identify further cost-saving measures.”
